The Project:
is located at Mount Abu, a hill resort 200km from the city of Ahmadabad, with an overall urban and rural population of 100'000. As a result of a preliminary study the following problems were highlighted:
- Illiteracy
- Under-nourishment
- Ill health
- Water pollution,
- Lack of basic amenities and medical care.
GHF is providing technical assistance and partial funding to this project in collaboration with the Global Hospital and Research Centre of Mount Abu.,
which implements and coordinates this project.
We are facilitating the implementation of an out-reach programme covering ten villages and 80'000 people. This out-reach programme provides basic curative,
preventative, and rehabilitative medicine, as well as community development projects.
The construction and furnishing of two classrooms in Oriya village school as well as repairing its roof will improve the conditions of this rural school
and will help more than seventy children and four staff members.
