A Brief Introduction

Global Harmony Foundation (GHF) was established in Switzerland on 11 January, 1989, under Swiss Civil Code art.80 ff. with a tax deductible status.

GHF is a professional humanitarian and development oriented non-profit-making organization. It is small in structure, visionary in mission, personal in relationships and professional in assistance.

We work with the underprivileged, mainly children and women, in partnership.  We help them through relevant vocational training, education and focused funding to discover and develop their potential in order to improve their lives and environment.

Our guiding values are simple. We esteem humanity above all races, ranks and religions.

Programmes

These vary depending on the needs, priorities, potential and culture of the local population in the countries in which we work. But they aim to:

• Develop a self-help and community help culture
• Provide pre-schooling, nutritional and health care
• Improve nutrition, health and hygiene practices for all
• Facilitate vocational training and work possibilities for women and men
• Educate women in family and home management
• Nurture environmental care and regeneration
• Provide basic preventative and curative medicine to children, adults and communities
• Facilitate the development of schools, institutions and communities

Projects

Our assisted projects are carefully woven into the local cultural framework of the people. This is done by building upon traditional practices rather than destroying them. Our object is to nurture greater self-reliance, self-efficacy and self-esteem with the participant population, thus changing attitudes and practices in ways which will help them improve their own lives and environment.
