Reaching the Unreachable in the Poorest Parts of the World

The Project: is located in the national park "Mirador del Norte" at the north side of Santo Domingo. This park is four square kilometers consisting of rivers, hills and forests. This Park is easily accessible by the population of Santo Domingo of two and a half million people. 

The Health Center. The construction of the Health Center has now been completed. It provides services to the families from the neighbouring poor communities of Los Trinitarios, Villa Millos and Guaricano. These services cover the following:

• Preventative and curative medicine
• Nutritional education
• Home economics tuition
• Remedial education to children and adults
• Environmental education
• Community development
• Income generating skills

Now that the centre is operational, we need funding for dental equipment and furniture.

GHF will continue to provide technical assistance and partial funding until 2009.

Note: Recurring costs such as staff salaries, rent, maintenance charges, are borne by the local institutions. Moreover, the community members will share their skills such as carpentry, masonry, electricity etc.
