Reaching the Unreachable in the Poorest Parts of the World

The Dedicated Volunteers of the "Damas Salesianas" at the Centro Santo Domingo Savio - Naranjo, Costa Rica

The Project: the commune of Naranjo has donated a plot of land and the local people have completed the construction of a vocational training centre for women, using funds from an initial GHF donation, plus local donations.

GHF is providing the needed technical assistance and training as well as partial funding focused on upgrading the facilities of this centre, and the teaching programmes and methods utilized.

GHF also facilitates vocational training (sewing, tailoring, embroidery, hairdressing, cooking as well as Spanish and English language skills and computer education) for the women of the village. 

GHF assistance is planned to continue until 2013.

Amount needed for 2008 - 2009: Sfr. 14'000.

After 2009, a study will be performed to determine the future assistance needs.
