Reaching the Unreachable in the Poorest Parts of the World

The School Project, Crescer, Alto Paraiso, Goias, Brazil

The Project:  This project is located in a very poor neighborhood of Alto Paraiso. It is an educational development project assisting approximately 80 underprivileged children, as well as their parents and other members of the community. The children are aged from 5 to 16.

Moreover, the Municipality have donated a piece of land for the construction of a new centre. Upon completion, this centre will help an additional 90  children and their parents, , as well as other community members.

The Project consists of the following:

• Remedial schooling
• Vocational training
• Computer education

The aims of the Project are:

• To enable the children to obtain an education
• To provide the older ones with vocational skills
• To provide the community members with vocational training. . :

GHF is providing the necessary technical assistance and training as well as partial funding until 2013. .

The total amount needed for 2008 - 2009 is : Sfr. 80'000
