The Project: This is the "small pair of scissors" project, Tesourinha, São Paulo Brazil.. It is located in a very poor suburb of the city of São
Paulo. It is a vocational training project specializing in all aspects of hairdressing, hygiene and human relationships for boys and girls who are out of school, or have very low level of schooling. Their
ages range from 12 to 21.
This Project consists of the following:
- Character building and development.
- Functional training in hairdressing for boys and girls.
- Hygiene and health education.
- Human relations orientation.
- Professional orientation.
The objectives of this Project are:
- To provide hairdressing skills to poor boys and girls.
- To nurture the children's self-esteem and responsibility
- To facilitate their integration into the society as responsible and productive citizens.
- Upon successful completion of the vocational training course, to help the graduates obtain employment, or in certain cases create their own enterprise.
GHF is providing technical assistance and training as well as partial funding, and our assistance is planned to continue until 2013.
The total amount needed for each year is Sfr. 30'000.
